How to farm cores in Morimens comes down to recurring events, not grinding one stage. Luminous Core is the limited-pull item, Pure Core is the standard-pull item (it also pays for Gnostic Potential), and Ethereal Core works like a Luminous Core until the next major version. The steady free sources are the 7-day Gifts from Mythag login (Luminous Core ×10 per season), character trials (Luminous Core ×1 each), gameplay events (×6 of each core), free Archives tracks (Pure Core ×30 to ×40), daily and weekly quests, seasonal modes, and mailbox compensation.

This guide uses official Steam patch notes and announcements up to V2.6.2 (October 2026). Where the notes don't say what an item does, we say so, and later patches can change any amount listed here.

Every new Awakener released in 2026 so far, from Xu to Vivian, came with a trial worth Silver ×40 and Luminous Core ×1. On the garment rerun, the skin cannot drop before the 5th pull, so the free first pull lands on a lower prize.

Check your mailbox after every patch. The V2.6.2 maintenance paid Silver ×200 and Ethereal Core ×5 (claim by October 26, 2026, 09:00), and in September 2026 the studio mailed 100 Ethereal Cores as a D-Effect Zone apology.

Free Pure Core sources

  • Premium Archives "Insight Mind" (October 19 to November 16): the free tasks give Pure Core ×30 and four copies of the SSR Wheel of Destiny "Imago's Clinic". The paid track adds Luminous Core ×60 for Silver Prime ×1680.
  • Investigation Archives: recent main story chapters each added an Archives track. Clear the chapter on Normal and Hard, and the free Standard Pass pays Pure Core ×40 and Silver ×2000 (V2.5.0 for Astral Reign Chapter 5, V2.6.0 for Part 2, Chapter 6). V2.4.0 doubled the free rewards of four older Archives (an extra Pure Core ×80 in total), so finish the backlog.
  • Daily and weekly quests: in the V2.5.0 layout, reaching 500 Basic Active Ion each day gave Pure Core ×1, and Weekly Trials gave up to Pure Core ×10. V2.6.2 merged both into "Training Quests", so check the current amounts in-game.
  • Seasonal modes: Phantasmal Dive, Traphase All Pick, Traphase Draft Pick and Hectic Skybound Rail each run 28-day seasons. Each mode's seasonal missions pay Silver ×250 and Pure Core ×5 (V2.5.0).
  • Codes: most currently reported codes give Pure Cores. See the codes page.

Silver: convert it carefully

Since V2.3.0, the "+" button on the Pure Core and Luminous Core bars exchanges Silver for either core. The notes we read don't give the rate, so check it in-game. Free Silver comes from events (about Silver ×900 per character event), the D-Effect Zone (up to 2,700 per cycle after the September 28 adjustment), and the October 2026 Discord challenge's 1,000 Silver days.

Editorial judgement (as of V2.6.2, October 2026): spend Silver on Luminous Cores, not Pure Cores. Pure Cores arrive in big free batches (×30 to ×40 per Archives track), while Luminous Cores are the item for limited banners, which run for a set window (Vivian's runs October 19 to November 16). The banner guide tracks what is live.

05

What Soul Rewind Core and Fate Rewind Core are

Since V2.5.0, excess (overflow) copies no longer give Gnosis Fragments. They give shards instead:

  • An overflow permanent Awakener gives Soul Rewind Shard ×1, and a limited one gives ×2.
  • An overflow standard Wheel of Destiny gives Fate Rewind Shard ×1, and a limited one gives ×2.
  • Ten shards make one core, up to 3 times per month. From June 1, 2026, this moved to Alchemy, then Material Synthesis (V2.5.1).
  • Since V2.5.3, you can also break a shard down into Refined Gnosis Fragment ×1 and Gnosis Fragment ×3.

Soul Rewind Core is also the duplicate reward if you pull Murphy's "Candy Snatcher" skin while already owning it. The V2.6.2 notes list that same reward as "Rebirth Core", and the V2.5.1 recipe uses the same 10 shards, so the two names appear to mean one item. The official notes we read don't explain what the core does, so read the in-game item description before you craft or break down shards.

06

Free reawaken and free awakenings

The free reawaken is the "Argent Dawnlight" first-time awakening, added in V2.2.2 (May 2025). New Keepers get one free "Awaken 5 times" that guarantees a random Awakener from the 20 permanent ones in Realms Research, and you can reawaken for free until you like the result. Realms Research opens after you finish it. The pool may have shifted since V2.4.0 added Faded Legacy limited Awakeners to Realms Research. See the reroll guide.

Free awakenings on events show up regularly. A February 2026 designated-awakening event made the first 5 awakenings free each week, 20 in total.

Free characters have come from anniversaries. The 2.5th anniversary "Dreamy Rendezvous" event (May 18 to June 29, 2026) gave Saya ×1 plus Ethereal Core ×250 for logging in and clearing two stages, and the 2nd anniversary gave Luminous Core ×200 (November 17, 2025, to January 26, 2026). The "Gift of Knowledge" selectors that freely awaken a limited Awakener are not free: they unlock through cumulative Silver Prime purchases.

What is a Soul Rewind Core in Morimens?

A core crafted from 10 Soul Rewind Shards (up to 3 per month), which come from overflow Awakener copies. Some notes call it "Rebirth Core". Official notes don't describe its effect, so check the in-game item description.
